Program Assistant-Chemical Dependency, 9 p-7 a variable

|Description:||Provides basic, direct patient care to mental health/alcohol rehabilitation patients and functions as a member of the health care team, taking direction and guidance from Nurses and Counselors. All care is provided in compliance with and according to department policy/procedure and standards of care. Participates in the collection of patient data with the health care team. Participates in unit Quality Improvement activities. Assists in clerical functions as directed. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and provided age specific treatment and care (Refer to Accountability Standards).|
|Qualifications:||High school graduate or GED. Knowledge of human services helpful. Legible handwriting. May have Nurse Aide certification.|
Effective interpersonal skills required. Ability to set priorities and organize work environment. Orders and maintains equipment and supplies. Must be self-motivated and able to function efficiently without constant direct supervision. Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
