|Description:||Represents Vice President of Nursing and hospital administration in his/her absence. Assumes responsibility for hospital and departmental coordination after hours, weekends and holidays. Evaluates unit staffing levels making adjustments as indicated, evaluates patient care activities, interprets departmental policies, serves as managerial role model, and is accountable for operating, personnel and patient care decisions during his/her tour of duty. |
|Duties:||Knowledge in the use of clinical equipment. Demonstrated ability to initiate and mainŽtain IV therapy. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Basic nurse management and leaŽdership skills. Good working knowledge of hospital and nursing policies and procedures. Excellent problem-solving skills. Works well in crisis situations. Must be able to maintain emotional control and tact in difficult situations. Access to confidential patient and staff information|
|Qualifications:||Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of New York. Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred. Five years current clinical nursing experience with demonstrated leadership preferred. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York required. BLS certification. Completes mandatory education as required.|
