|Description:||Practices Respiratory Therapy to accomplish specifically prescribed or standard protocol procedures within critical care and other patient care areas. Functions as shift supervisor, when designated, to organize, follow up and supervise Respiratory Therapy Technicians, and Respiratory Therapist assignments to ensure timely completion of patient care activities. Functions as Clinical Instructor for affiliated Respiratory Therapy Education Programs upon designation and training. Functions in departmental Specialty Diagnostics and Therapeutic Programs. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patientís age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care. |Qualifications:||AAS degree in respiratory care. Minimum of six months experience preferred. Registration/eligible as RRT by National Board for Respiratory Care. Licensure by State of New York as Respiratory Therapist. Certifications in Basic Life Support and Advanced Neonatal Life Support. Successful completion of the NBRC requirements for registry (RRT credential) within one year from date of hire.|
